✨ feat(pipeline): surface internal abort cleanup

- factor the internal halt message into a shared helper
- log the actionable halt reason during finally cleanup
- keep latest pipeline status focused on the internal abort
- add tests for discard_pending_index_ops across storages
- lock down insert-done failure handling and cleanup behavior
