* Update to flake8 v6 & re-satisfy lint rules

* Simplify .gitignore with .* rule

* Update CI script dependencies

* Run CI unit tests on Ubuntu 20.04 to retain Python 3.6 support

* Specify PyPy minor version for CI unit tests
